180kg Rack Deadlifts x 31 reps

"Last set, Best set."
All my clients know this is my favourite training motto, and for good reason. I believe it's that moment when you think you've got nothing left, when fear of failure causes you to doubt your ability, when physical and mental fatigue pushes you close to your absolute limit....these are the moments where you get to show what you're truly made of. Do you step back, choke, make excuses and back down? Or do stand your ground and say, 'I don't think I can do it - but I'm gonna give it HELL anyway >:]
On my 1st set, I felt like my back was going to snap on the 4th rep. I honestly wasn't feeling motivated up to this point and was ready to give up right then and there.
The 2nd set, I cleared my mind and focused on better technique to protect my lower back. Managed to squeeze out 8 but still felt like I had nothing left.
But the 3rd and 4th set, I fire lit in me; a rage that came from the realization that my body was giving up because my MIND was telling it to. I was allowing my self-doubt to restrict my full potential. This was unacceptable. So I ignored the fatigue and the little voice that said 'You can't do ittttttt,' forgot about counting reps and focused my mind on only one thought as I approached the bar: "EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOT LEFT."
This video is the result. Total reps for all 4 sets of 180kg: 31. Last set, Best set.
