Does MEAL FREQUENCY significantly affect your Metabolism?

Do you really need to eat 6 meals per day to lose fat effectively? Do smaller, more frequent meals really increase your metabolism more than larger, less frequent meals? I decided to shed light on this controversial topic once and for all. Links/References:
