Shoulders/Arms: New Exercises

by Jam Acero, 8 years ago

New exercises I've incorporated into my Shoulder and Arm days.
1. Rotating Lateral Raise: I find twisting midway through the motion helps to activate both the front and lateral delt equally, great way to work them simultaneously.
2. Strict Side Lateral Raise: doing these supported on a bench and one arm at a time really zones in each rep on that all-important outer part of the shoulder. Gotta go lighter on these and focus not just on form but actually FEELING the target area initiate the lifting of the dumbbell, as you can see mine does before every rep
3. Swissbar Front Raise: this bar is heavier than the standard ones, great potential way to overload the front delts by utilizing a bit of help from body movement
4. Pushdowns w/Arm Blaster: using the Blaster really helps to keep the movement strict by locking your elbows in close, forcing your Lateral Tricep to do all the work.
5. Seated Tricep Extension: Minimizing body movement once again + having to fight to get the bar overhead from behind you really hits the upper part of your tricep hard, an area that's often neglected by most people
6. EZ Curls w/Arm Blaster: the clip speaks for itself.
